Taking extensions out without harming the hair
Removal is a skill in its own right. Done badly, it can damage the natural hair underneath, so it deserves as much practice as fitting.
The fitter works row by row, using the tool or solution that suits the method and releasing each piece gently. They never pull or cut blindly, because hair near the join is easy to catch.
The natural hair is detangled gently and checked for any breakage. Many fitters suggest a rest or a conditioning routine before the next set.
Find out whether removal is taught for every method and whether you practise it. If you are looking at the Newcastle course, ask on WhatsApp whether removal is part of the day.
